ABOUT US

Fortified Wine Glass.jpg

Mundoo Ridge was just an idea and a dream for owners, Rob & Irene Cordy. When they purchased the property at Battams Road in 1992.

With the help of family & friends, the first vines of Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon were planted in 1994 with the grapes initially sold to local wineries such as Kingston Estate and Berri Estates.

The first Mundoo Ridge Wines were produced in 2006 after a low international demand for Australian wine left the property with a large quantity of grapes. Not wanting the fruit to go to waste, the first Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon was produced.

In 2015, Mundoo Ridge Wines decided to start producing wine again in a more sustainable way from new plantings of alternative varieties such as Sangiovese, Durif and Montepulciano. Sales of the 2015 vintage began in 2017.

With patience, persistence and enthusiastic support form their family and friends, Mundoo Ridge Wines, now produces 3500 litres per annum and in 2019, they opened their cellar door.

The new wines being produced are unique and are an example of the winemaker using the grapes produced in the Riverland to full advantage.
